Stage 2 – The Next Level

250 HP on 91-Octane Pump Gas

The Precision EFI Stage 2 is the perfect upgrade for riders looking to take the next step in performance while maintaining the proven reliability of the factory turbocharger.

Producing 250 horsepower on 91-octane pump gas, the Stage 2 delivers approximately 50 horsepower over the factory configuration, transforming the 998 Turbo into a remarkably quicker, more responsive machine.

With increased boost pressure, optimized fuel and ignition mapping, and dramatically improved throttle response, the Stage 2 offers a level of performance that is immediately noticeable from the first pull of the throttle.

Built for Performance

The Stage 2 was developed for riders who have upgraded to a 2.5-inch free-flowing exhaust system and want to fully take advantage of its increased flow capacity.

Whether you're using the Precision EFI Stainless Steel 2.5" Exhaust or another quality baffled 2.5-inch exhaust system, the Stage 2 calibration delivers smooth power, exceptional drivability, and impressive acceleration across the entire RPM range.

Throttle response is dramatically improved, turbo spool-up is quicker, and the sled feels significantly more responsive in every riding condition.

Precision EFI Knock Protection

Every Precision EFI ECU calibration includes our exclusive Knock Protection System, continuously monitoring engine knock to maximize performance while protecting your engine under changing fuel quality and operating conditions.

Clutch Calibration Required

To achieve the advertised performance, the Stage 2 requires adjustable primary clutch weights.

Maintaining the correct clutch calibration is essential to maximize acceleration, belt life, and keep the engine operating in its optimum powerband.

The recommendations below are intended as a starting point for sleds equipped with a stock primary spring and helix in good condition. Final clutch calibration will vary depending on gearing, rider weight, altitude, snow conditions, and other modifications.

Target Engine Speed

Target RPM: 9,000 RPM

Recommended Starting Point

  • Performance spring and helix kit (SIDEWINDER-CLUTCH-COMBO) strongly recommended
  • Dalton QAY-70 Adjustable Ramp Kit
  • Adjust to a total weight of 73 grams
  • Apply Purple Loctite to all weight screws.
  • For most applications, position the adjustment screw with the head flush with the top of the heel pocket.

Clutch Adjustment Procedure

Perform a full-throttle acceleration while applying the throttle progressively to minimize track spin.

Once engine RPM stabilizes, record the maximum RPM.

  • If RPM is above 9,000: Add clutch weight.
  • If RPM is below 9,000: Remove clutch weight.

Repeat the procedure until the engine consistently reaches 9,000 RPM under full load.

Because snow conditions, elevation, temperature, and track traction all influence clutch performance, minor adjustments may be required throughout the season to maintain the target RPM.

Compatibility

The Stage 2 calibration is designed for sleds equipped with a 2.5-inch free-flowing exhaust system.

For the best overall performance, sound quality, and calibration accuracy, we recommend the Precision EFI Stainless Steel 2.5" Exhaust.

The Perfect Upgrade

The Stage 2 is an ideal choice for riders who want a substantial increase in performance without moving to more advanced fuel system modifications.

Delivering 250 horsepower on 91-octane pump gas, lightning-fast throttle response, and the reliability Precision EFI is known for, the Stage 2 offers an exciting, confidence-inspiring ride whether you're carving trails, crossing lakes, or lining up against your friends.
