Unlike many aggressive performance calibrations, our optimized fuel and ignition strategies actually improve fuel economy during normal trail riding. The factory calibration is intentionally conservative, while the Precision EFI tune extracts more usable power with greater efficiency under cruising conditions.
Like every Precision EFI calibration, the Stage 3R includes our proprietary Knock Protection System, continuously monitoring engine knock to maximize performance while protecting your engine under varying fuel and operating conditions.

Clutch Calibration Required
To achieve the advertised performance and maintain the engine in its optimal powerband, adjustable primary clutch weights are required.
The settings below are recommended as a starting point for sleds equipped with stock primary spring and helix in good condition.
Because clutch calibration is affected by numerous variables—including spring rate, helix angle, gearing, altitude, rider weight, snow conditions, and track traction—final adjustment may vary from one application to another.
Target Engine Speed
Target RPM: 9,000 RPM
Recommended Starting Settings
TEAM Clutch
- Dalton QA2-76 Adjustable Ramp Kit
- Total weight: 78 grams
- Apply Purple Loctite to all weight screws.
ADAPT Clutch
- Dalton QA3-65 Adjustable Ramp Kit
- Total weight: 67 grams
- Apply Purple Loctite to all weight screws.
For most applications, the adjustment screw should be positioned with the head flush with the top of the heel pocket, which serves as an excellent baseline setting.
Fine-Tuning Procedure
Perform a full-throttle acceleration while applying power progressively to minimize track spin. Once the engine RPM stabilizes, record the maximum RPM.
- If engine RPM is above 9,000, add clutch weight.
- If engine RPM is below 9,000, remove clutch weight.
Keep in mind that snow conditions, temperature, elevation, and track traction all influence clutch performance and may require minor adjustments to maintain the target RPM.
