Fuel Recommendation

Stage 1 is fully compatible with 87-octane fuel, although 91 octane is strongly recommended to achieve the best performance and maximum protection.

The Bosch MG1 ECU found in the 2025+ Outlander is one of the most advanced engine management systems ever installed in an ATV.

Developed through years of collaboration between BRP and Bosch, it incorporates sophisticated strategies that protect the engine while maximizing performance.

Rather than replacing these advanced functions, Precision EFI unlocks and recalibrates your original ECU, preserving all of its factory intelligence and protection features.

These include:

This means you retain OEM reliability while gaining a significant increase in performance.

Initial Clutch Weight Settings

The following setup is recommended as a starting point for vehicles equipped with stock springs, stock helix, and a clutch system in good condition.

Keep in mind that clutch calibration can vary depending on:

• Tire size
• Clutch wear
• Belt condition
• Spring or helix changes
• Altitude
• Riding surface
• Vehicle load

Because of these variables, final settings may differ from one vehicle to another.

Tuning Procedure

1. Accelerate aggressively while avoiding belt slip.
2. Maintain full throttle until engine RPM stabilizes.
3. Record the stabilized RPM.
4. If RPM is above the target, add weight.
5. If RPM is below the target, remove weight.

Testing should always be performed under consistent riding conditions, as traction and terrain directly influence engine RPM.

The Outlander 6×6 generally requires nearly identical settings, as its additional weight is largely compensated by a different transmission ratio.

Recommended Starting Point

• PEFI Adjustable Clutch Weights: 76 g
• Target Engine Speed: 7,800 RPM
• Initial Adjustment: Add 2.8 g to each weight
• Apply Blue or Purple Loctite to all hardware.
• The most common baseline setting is with the screw head flush with the top of the heel-side adjustment hole.

The result is a clutch calibration that keeps your engine exactly where it makes the most power, delivering stronger acceleration, improved drivability, and the maximum performance your Outlander 850 is capable of.
