Outlander 850 & 1000R G3 Adustable Clutch Weights
Precision EFI Adjustable Clutch Weights
Can-Am Outlander G3 850 & 1000R
The Precision EFI Adjustable Clutch Weights are engineered to maximize the performance and efficiency of the Outlander G3 CVT system.
Featuring an optimized weight profile, the PEFI ramps increase engine RPM throughout the operating range, delivering significantly stronger acceleration and improved mid-range response. As shown in our dyno testing, the engine remains much closer to its optimal powerband—reaching nearly 1,000 RPM higher at 30 km/h compared to the factory ramps.
Like any quality adjustable clutch weight, the PEFI ramps also allow you to fine-tune full-throttle engine RPM by adding or removing weight, ensuring the clutch is perfectly calibrated for your specific setup.
Innovative Two-Stage Profile
Our exclusive two-stage profile delivers the best of both worlds.
Under acceleration, it keeps the engine in the ideal powerband for maximum performance. During normal cruising, the profile transitions smoothly to maintain a more comfortable RPM, reducing unnecessary engine speed on long trail rides.
The result is stronger acceleration without sacrificing riding comfort.
Important
The PEFI Adjustable Clutch Weight Kit is designed for vehicles equipped with Precision EFI ECU tuning. It is not intended for use with the factory ECU calibration, as the clutch profile has been optimized to match our engine tuning.
Initial Weight Setup
The following settings are recommended as a starting point for vehicles equipped with:
- Stock primary spring
- Stock secondary spring and helix
- Good belt and clutch condition
Please note that clutch calibration is affected by several factors, including:
- Tire size
- Clutch wear
- Belt condition
- Spring and helix changes
- Altitude
- Riding surface and load
Because of these variables, no single setup is ideal for every application.
Fine-Tuning Procedure
- Accelerate firmly and progressively while avoiding belt slip.
- Maintain full throttle until engine RPM stabilizes.
- Record the stabilized RPM.
- If RPM is above the target, add weight.
- If RPM is below the target, remove weight.
Keep in mind that traction and terrain conditions will influence engine RPM. Perform your testing on consistent terrain whenever possible.
The 6×6 Outlander typically requires settings very close to those below, as its additional weight is largely offset by its different gearbox ratio.
Recommended Starting Setup
- PEFI Adjustable Weight: 76 g
- Target Engine RPM: 7,800 RPM
- Initial Adjustment: Add 2.8 g to each ramp
- Use Blue or Purple Loctite on all hardware.
- The most common baseline setting is with the screw head flush with the top of the heel-side adjustment hole.
This setup provides an excellent starting point, allowing you to fine-tune the clutch for maximum performance based on your riding conditions and modifications.
