Installation
Installation is quick and straightforward when using the optional PEFI Gear Bushing Installation & Extraction Tool, eliminating the need for a hydraulic press.
Installation Procedure
- Remove the OEM circlip and outer washer.
- Remove the gear from the jackshaft.
- Remove the second washer and circlip located behind the gear.

Important: Do not remove the bearing retaining ring.
- The rear washer and circlip will not be reused.
- Using the optional PEFI Extractor Tool, remove the original bushing from the gear.
- Reverse the main components of the PEFI Tool and press the new HD Gear Bushing into the gear.
- Install the supplied shim ring onto the jackshaft before reinstalling the gear.
- Install the gear fitted with the new HD Gear Bushing.
- Reinstall the original outer washer and circlip.
- One OEM washer and circlip will remain unused after the conversion.
- Reassemble the remaining chaincase components in the reverse order of disassembly.
Limited Lifetime Warranty
The PEFI Heavy-Duty Gear Bushing is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty when installed using the PEFI Installation & Extraction Tool.
Warranty applies only when both the HD Gear Bushing and the PEFI Installation Tool were purchased on the same invoice. All warranty claims are subject to the terms outlined in the Precision EFI Product Return, Warranty & Disclaimer Policy.
